"Strong gravitational lensing by stars and galaxies"
Abstract. Gravitational microlensing can be used probe the structure of the Milky Way and discover extrasolar planets. I will review the current status of extrasolar planet detections and outline future possibilities. I will then discuss how galaxy-scale strong gravitational lensing can be used to probe substructure in galaxies and how it may be related to the formation of luminous satellite galaxies.
